I have a site that I use to keep track of forest fires

With many folks staying in mountainous regions for the cool weather this a good resource to have for information, since local info is sometimes hard to come by

InciWeb.org

Putz
Hey Putz, that's a great idea. At Easter time my wife and I were unable to camp in our chosen spot in the Jefferson Natl forest in Va due to three wildfires burning in the area. This site would have helped a lot , and cut out a lot of driving.

I second that site.. its what I also use to keep tabs

What a great site... Boondocking full time in the NF, this tool, as long as I have internet, will be very valuable...

I have had a few close calls, another great tool is a hand held radio scanner, will keep you up to date of close fire fighting going on... Also get one with weather reports, invaluable at times...
