Hi! My name is James and I'm a songwriter who has decided to fully dedicate myself to music and writing. To do so I thought that the van life would be the best way to make my dreams come true. I bought a 1983 merry miler and have been completely renovating the inside turning it from carpeted chaos to the van yacht (wood paneling, flooring and bed) essentially I wanted a clean environment in which I could produce my music. I'll post photos as soon as it's done if there is interest! My first destination is LA I'm hoping to stay a couple months the move on up the coast. If you have any advice or any boondocking contacts I would l love any info/stories you have! Cheers.

Hi James! And pics for sure. Best of luck on your song writing!

Hi James, welcome. Would love to see pictures when you have them!

Great to have you along for the ride! The only thing we like more than photos is ..... answering questions! Feel free to ask anything we can help you with.

Hello from Oregon!

Hey! Welcome... I would love to see photos, sounds like a great adventure!! Peaceful Day!

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody! I hail from the land of enchantment and the evergreen state, I'm currently in New Mexico but I've spent about 12  years in Washington. I released my first solo album about 9 months ago and it's been doing pretty well considering I'm an independent artist. You can find it here http.soundcloud.com/tuttlevision  I have a video I took with my Iphone on youtube if you want to check that out search TuttleVision on youtube. I'm traveling by myself,  no pets as of yet thinking about getting a lizard of some sort. I got really lucky with the van its got all the amenities of modern life, and it only has 98,000 miles. I graduated collage and looked for a job that fit my degree for two years and in the between worked at an indian restaraunt for a year then as a furniture salesman for a year which was good work and I could have continued on there but I felt that if I didn't pursue my passion then I would end up regretting my decision later on. I've been working on the van for about 9 months with my dad. We milled all our own wood besides the flooring. There is some exotic wood from back when my dad worked in fine home building. There are two arches and accents touches of alaskan yellow cedar , the window surrounds are zebra wood and there are touches of purple heart, there is almost a fair amount of first growth oak. I'll definitely post some photos as soon as its completed which will be within the week!
