Finished van conversion. Just left home in it

This is a 2001 Freightliner mt55 Stepvan with a 5.9 Cummins 24 valve and an Allison transmission. 

Has a microwave, toilet, shower with water heater, 55 gallon freshwater tank, 80 gallon waste tank. Overhead recessed lighting, speaker with amplifier, fridge, 2000 watt pure sine wave inverter with 3 deep cycle deka 27 batteries. 

I did all the work by myself over the course of 5 months. I logged 260 hours and spent about 13,500 dollars.

I was just 5 minutes ago, out admiring the new truck that the CINTAS driver was delivering all of our company floormats in (also a Freightliner box truck with a Cummins), and thinking to myself how much room you would have as an RV. Sounds like you did a good job on your build.

What's the difference between the Freightliner MT-55 and the MT-45?
I'll be doing a step van conversion myself, looking for a 2000-2006 Freightliner with a 12' box.

What's the difference between the Freightliner MT-55 and the MT-45?
I'll be doing a step van conversion myself, looking for a 2000-2006 Freightliner with a 12' box.

The mt55 is the heavier duty version with a stronger chassis, bigger suspension and leaf springs and all that. It’s built to carry as much as 20,000 pounds in the cargo area and can tow 20,000 as well. The mt45 is built for 10,000 pounds in the cargo area and will tow just as much as the 55 I’d imagine.

My modifications added somewhere around 1500 pounds to the truck which is literally like paperweights to that thing. It rides stiffly over bumps because it doesn’t have ENOUGH weight in it.
