DIY Fabric Blinds

I just watched how to turn cheap slat-blinds into very nice fabric blinds...really nice result and pretty cheap and simple process:

She used a light weight fabric. I wonder how that would work double sided with the side out being of a heavier insulated fabric. Then, not just good looking..but insulating and blackout too. Might have to try a sample to see
