eh, people die...seems to be the way of things. I found the story below it more interesting... 92 yr old WW2 vet with dementia picks up colored pencils and starts making art...

"Patrol problems with seeing the same cars there night after night"
Yeah...but the van in question had a Wisconsin temporary paper tag. You think even a low paid security guard would notice that.
That would be really sad if she was there that whole time just waiting to be found.
It's really sad anyways, nobody wants to die alone and in a walmart parking lot.

I don't know, however, what the solution would be. Maybe go through every couple days and mark tires to check that folks are moving their vehicles? If it hasn't moved by say...10 or 11 am the next morning (or possibly early the next evening), give a knock to make sure that they're ok and alive?

I think the minute Wal Mart has to pay someone to perform parking lot security due to transient vehicle dwellers, that's when the gig is up for free Walmart overnight parking.

I'm probably just being callous and insensitive because, well, I am, but still...really don't think it's anybody's job to routinely check parked vehicles for dead people.

Walmart 104th ave Vancouver, WA is doing just that...So, people do 1 of 2 things. Park up close to the place and get in the back of the vehicle and camp out in stealth or not go there and go to another one...

Just as I was typing the above VPD patrol came through. Slow cruise through for 4 lanes and now past the doors....No probs..(192nd Walmart BTW)

I like what they said at the end, instead of 'we need to crack down on overnighters' like i expected, they said maybe we should all try to look out for each other.

Everyone dies someplace, and we don't always get to pick where. Or when.

Agree that it's not where you die. It also isn't when, how or why but only that it is as quick and painless as possible.
