The stove is great, my parents used camping and cooked for our large family 9 kids, white gas is purchased in a square can, I think same gas that is used by the coleman lanterns. The red tank in front, u open valve pump it up, turn on burner and light. the sides are to block wind all folds w carry handle. Newer ones may use the 1lb propane, not sure if it can be convereted or not.

below is link to new size/container of fuel on Amazon under $14.00 may find at variety of stores. Enjoy the stove!

What a blessing! I used to have one of those storves, way before unleaded. We burned what we called "white gas" in it - leaded high test. I think unleaded high test might do just as well.

Deb just to clear up any confusion. white gas is not leaded high test gasoline. white gas is gas with no additives, no lead or anything. in fact if someone happen to use leaded gas it would plug up the generator. here's white gas on wiki,

Coleman fuel on Wiki,

I just wanted to clear that up because we were always taught(drilled into our heads) to never to use leaded gas in the stoves and lanterns.

Not to mention the toxicity.

Which long ago we didn't even realize was critical to children's proper development.
