Currently embarking on a truck camper build with a 12V electrical system and looking into fusing the individual circuits. I like the idea of having these switches that are also circuit breakers for the individual components:

Only thing is it seems better not to have all the switches in one place and so would like to find these components individually. Is there a good source for 12V rocker switches, or will these on ebay rated for 125V work? Would be less expensive going this route but I am also not sure where to find the proper paneling to mount these and trim them out.

Has anyone else gone this route or would a fuse block be superior along with plain switches where needed?

120v AC circuit breakers will not work on 12v DC. you can get rocker switches anywhere, how good are you at cutting rectangular holes?

I would stay away from no-name electrical components. I would also stay away from car stereo stuff. I would go with marine components like Blue Sea, Bussman, and the like.

You want to place your DC breakers or fuses as close to the battery as you can. Put your switches where you need them.

Circuit breakers will prematurely wear out it you are constantly using them as a switch.

Better to go with standard automotive fuses.  ATC, ATM, and MAX fuses are found anywhere automotive supplies are sold.  It is a good idea to go with the same fuses that your vehicle uses (ATC or ATM).  MAX fuses are for high amps although I like ANL fuses better for battery main fuse and solar to controller fuse.  You can use them to easily disconnect battery or solar.

Blue Sea and others make good fuse panels.  Nice compact package and easy to connect wires to.

Blue Sea, Summit Racing, Speedway, Jegs are good sources for quality 12V switches and switch panels.
