Really happy with the Renogy 200 Watt Premium Kit. 24 hours ago the batteries were at 12.8 volts. Even with usage all night and today they are now at 13 volts. Only had panels out for 5 hours and it was a partly cloudy day. Happy camper.
I counted 12 vans parked at this Pilot Travel Center. Based on observation 1/2 are freight expediters and 1/2 van dwellers. I stayed at the Waffle House across the street last night, nice n quiet and isolated but enjoyed a parking lot cuppa with several.
Batteries fully recharged by 1 pm today. I was initially concerned about how much power the Dometic CF 50 would use, not anymore. 200 ways solar, 200 ah batteries working great with my usage.
I use 20' cables with the option of 20' more (just plug and play) if situation requires. When unhooked from panels the 20' cables stay attached to charge controller and hung behind the drivers seat. In use, they run out the window as even at night I keep my windows cracked open. 2 adjustable length walking sticks are used to tilt when necessary.
I was also pleasantly surprised how quickly my barriers charge up to full in the morning. I always park to the west so they get the last bit of charge at night, you've got it goodnbeong able to move them though.
Glad to hear yours is working well too. The money and energy to put the system in is well worth it for sure. I was very hesitant to even bother with solar but now see it will pay off.
I am running a 65 quart fridge on a 100 watt panel and 100 amp hour battery and it's marginal. I can get good charge and good cooling on a sunny day but I can't keep it as cold overnight and in cloudy weather.
Glad to see the Renogy is working for you. I had big plans for premium panels, controller, etc. But I never seem to have the extra cash anymore. I just looked and I can get a complete 200 watt Renogy set up for about $340. That's cheaper than a generator and I don't like listening to those things anyhow. I think I need to pull the trigger on it and get it installed before RTR.
I hear ya there, I had a hard time "pulling the trigger" on the Premium kit. Don't really know if it does any better but glad I have it now. Best of luck,.. I'm now a true believer in sun power
200 watts of panels and 200 Ah of batteries appears to have been a good choice for my usage. Thanks to all the great advice here on the forum. I'm waking up to 12.6 volts on the batteries and they're fully recharged by 1:00 pm. Much thanks everybody for helping a solar "know nothing" like me to have a successful solar setup.
