I hit the Yahoo group occasionally, but have learned far more here, from Bob and the other members. This site has been a far better resource than the "Big RV" sites, for whom anything less than a $80,000 Sprinter B is not worth mentioning......

I've helped #2,"Chris Travels" sort out various issues with his '90 Dodge chassis, and wired in a Solenoid for some HD alternator charging for him when he passed through my area a few years back. The solenoid he provided proved to be non operational though, the contacts fused together.

He just bought a newish Class A, and is planning on giving tours up in Seward AK area with it, if I understood correctly, but will be keeping Zep, his van, for smaller outings.

He is very comfortable in front of a camera, which is a skill, I will not acquire.

One (of many) things I appreciate about this site is that it's a safe place to come with problems, questions, observations, etc. It's a pretty rare thing, like seeing Big Foot, for a thread to get unpleasant. It's not an easy job to manage something this big, so major kudos. I'm on other forums and groups, but very seldom post anything, as it too often turns ugly. Not the case here.

I agree, I belong to several forums and this one by far is the best. thanks again Cyndi for a great link. highdesertranger

He certainly earns the GOLDEN BUCKET award in my book!

That was an extremely well written article; lots of good information, links, and prose.

I'll have to look into this guys blog.

As well, some people on here may enjoy Kyle Pounds journey. Just do a search for him on youtube. A lot of good insight on stealth camping.

Oops?

Considering I barely read the post initially, I had no idea but I am enjoying this site thoroughly so congratulations to him for making the most influential on the list.

I have to say I agree with his choice of #1. I don't know anyone, anywhere that makes van-dwelling seem as do-able.

Hi Cyndi.  Thanks for mentioning my "Most Inspiring Van Dwellers of 2014" post.  I've been slowing planning my move to the van life for a few years and Bob was #1 on my list of top 10 inspirational van dwellers, which is well deserved.  I finally bought a van last month, so the work and adventure begins soon.  :D

Golden Bucket Award ?????
Priceless!!!

As a single woman traveler, Bob and the way this group is managed, gave me the courage to know I can do this. I feel safe here, can ask any "dumb" question I have, and (except on rare occasions) receive an outpouring of helpful responses. I haven't even felt the need to hang out in the Girls Group here, because the men have behaved so respectfully. I have learned more about batteries in the past 24 hours than I knew there was to know, and I can go on just about any thread here, and learn something new all day long! Bob Wells, his book, and this group, have changed my life in beautiful ways.
