Hey all :)  I plan on leaving a few days before the Oct 31st meeting date and maybe camp somewhere near the beach a night or two before arrival. Anyone in this area or a bit further south want to drive together?

We are in Carlsbad...headed towards the desert, today. Where are you?

If you live in California you probably know there's essentially no free and legal camping anywhere near the beach. What isn't private land is state parks and military. That said, I've stealth camped in Pacific Grove, Ventura, Huntington Beach and San Diego. There are probably other places, but you run the risk of getting "the knock."

Hello, sorry for the late reply. I am now in Nevada, I left CA a few days after I posted that and haven't signed on here until today. I decided to get the NV domicile out of the way first so came straight here.  Maybe see you down the road another time☺️

I wasn't aware of that but it's moot since I drove straight out of CA when I left. I did boondock in my city before I left and didn't get a knock but I know the area and chose well. There's a street near a college with apartments that are usually rented to students and they're known to rent to many more than are legally allowed so I figured my van would be mistaken for a random visitor or tenant. I was happy to see two class C RVs parked and took a chance.  No problem and surprisingly peaceful except for that one guy that rode a minibike all over the lawn at 3AM.
