I've hit well over a dozen, 3 totals but 1 total was a dodge grand caravan that cracked the center of the large grille. You'd never notice it.We were paid minus the salvage value & drove it a few more years then sold it. We bought back 2 cars & both had the same regular titles not salvage titles as they never changed hands.
I've never had rates increase for hitting deer or any other comp claim so I just called my State Farm agent who verified comp claims don't raise rates only collision claims raise rates. Comp is cheap

You might remember me mentioning them... they pay cash for a new factory RecreateVehicle each season, then trade it in after the ashtray is full.

In similar threads to ours, those people say they have uncountable numbers of claims, some individuals reporting as many as a dozen pay-outs from insurance!

They say it as though they are bragging, 'pulling a fast one' on the system.

January 2025, our annual for our ExpeditionVehicle -- us$1,200.
February 2025, our 1996 Dodge 4x4 Cummins for six months -- us$400.
If we had to purchase grub for the next couple months -- without our farming workkamp gig -- we would be looking at pet food and beans.

In most states you can limit your driving to around 7,000 miles a year and repair/maintain/test drive your historic or classic vehicle to and from club meetings/events/get togethers and etc. while paying I believe when I looked into it $75 a year and usually the plates are a one time fee. I had several vehicles at the time and lots of required running to maintain them so mileage was never a problem just had to keep track of it and not go over. I see lots of old beaters running historic/classic plates in Tucson.
