Go ahead folks, pick it apart  I sent an email asking what sort of 'repair' it needs

the Moho and the Dodge have no titles (the Dodge's is owned by a collection agency and the owner is dead)
other two might bear contacting

you can file for new title and on old accounts collection agencies just want to close the books, you never know unless you try

So previously wrecked Astro with clear title = no, but old leaky Moho or full size van (that may also have been wrecked) with no title = go for it, not really making any sense to me
Moot point, Astro seller never responded, the Ford Eco guy doesn't even know if it's a 150, 250, or 350, it has a leaking radiator, and was recently stolen....and recovered two blocks away
Supposedly a mechanic looked at it and said 'minor repair' but not WHAT needed repair, seller thinks it might have shut down on thieves
The GMC apparently was running a year ago, owner died, seller says no title problems though, I may go look at it, it's 2 hours drive away from me though, so gotta wait for a day off

personal preference and end game

personal preference- i,me,i look at minivans in a not so good light, driving 3 kids to school is all i see them good for

end game-put 5k and a bunch of elbow grease into the astro and you have a $3500 astro with a bed in the back
5k and elbow grease into the rv and you have a 10k rig that would be unique

i like to get what i like,if it's not the best deal or not in the best shape, well,oh well,in the end making your vision come true is well worth it

i looked for a year and a half then went over budget for my 40 year old rv that i am completely tearing apart but it is what i,me,i want

so what does art want,a minivan?

Im diggin on that old Mobile Traveler. Those are relatively rare. Looks like crap tho,.

will add, there are different types of lost title,if it was in their name and they just cant find it,you will need to get the title replacement forms fill them out and pay for them and when they get the replacement title you will have to pay to have it put in your name, sound like a lot but for the right rig...

if never in their name its as good as stolen, you can do it with some vin search and tracking down the last legal owner but beyond some classic collectors vehicle i wouldnt bother

Don't you think, if the title was in their name, they'd spend the lousy $5 to get a replacement, thereby adding $$$ to the value of the vehicle? it's easy as pie if you're the owner of record
Usually they bought it and never transferred the title, or bought without a title, in the case of RVs, to use for 'deer camp' been there, done that, got the t shirt

Given my Druthers I'd have a vehicle capable of pulling my travel trailer, or have gotten a small class C or B+ instead of the travel trailer, but the TT was what I could get, RV wise, and while my Ranger will pull it, it's maxed out in tow capacity
A Ranger with a cab high cap is a shittily small place to sleep, so I was looking at alternatives for RTR, but even the Astro has more towing capacity than my Ranger, for whatever reason
If I had my old 76 Big 10, with the high rise cap on it, I'd be set

BTW, I have never, in my life, dropped 5k into a vehicle I bought for 1k or less, I make them mechanically sound, and that's it, no cosmetic problems are bothered with

It's a moot point anyway, he hasn't bothered with a reply, i frigging hate it when people do that, if you want to sell, respond, if it's sold, take the ad down
I spotted a high top cap in austin, and one in houston, neither replied to attempts to contact them

Guy, if you find that Dome joke, please share, we could all use a laugh

couldnt tell you why people dont maximize their profit but happens all the time, here is a prime example

I've had that, too, but if it doesn't run at all, I get less interested
The Dodge FS for 799 I've seen, dealer won't answer his stupid phone and is never at the lot, that I can see,
the Ford cargos look interesting, especially the 350, it's be able to pull the trailer and be lived in
the 150 looks like he's parting out

Why don't these pop up when I'm browsing?  :s

Went to look at the 98 ford, it's a 250, not extended, pretty bright yellow, owner wasn't there at the shop, but it's moot, it's pretty deep in Houston, and the idea of towing that sucker through Houston traffic with a Ranger is laughable
Added to the fact that I think the seller is being coy about it's true mechanical condition, no thanks
Might go look at the GMC when the weather isn't freezing

The guy with the Astro responded today, said he'd take $450, needed repair? Cracked head 'an easy fix'. Mmmm hmmmm, pass lol
