Maxine, after arriving let the forum know and hopefully there will be a member close by who can assist you in checking the systems on the RV and maybe even check the mechanics a bit.

You strike me as a very competent woman, I am sure you'll do just fine.

Hi Maxine. Not sure if they have these in Denmark, but in almost any city in the US you'll find places that will rent you any power tool you might need. Last time I needed a circular saw, I just rented it for something like $10 for the weekend.

As other have mentioned, pawn shops and second hand stores will be your best bet for picking up the used hand tools you might want.

Thanks :)
In DK we can only rent big machinery. Every household has there own small tools. It is nice that I can rent it. I dont want to carry to many tools in my home on wheels :)
I will for sure try to tell you where I am. You are my new family and I am looking so much forward to meeting you and learn form you.

Take care and have fun

There are some good deals in the area around Vegas. I think you can get something nice under $8,000. Good luck to you! Sounds like you are living the dream. Welcome to America!!!!!

If it were me, I'd rent a car for a few weeks first, stay in an extended stay hotel the first month, you can stay for as little as $30-40 per night with monthly rental, you pay no hotel tax that way. This gives you time to get your bearings, and really look at a lot of RV's so you don't make a bad buy in a hurry.

Rent construction tools at Home Depot.
"Rent" automotive tools at Autozone, O'riley's, etc. You basically pay for the tool, and you can either keep it or return it for a full refund. They have special tools for that purpose. They know you will also buy parts.

You can pretty much rent anything in the US, sometimes at midnight...

You may find better deals and more inventory in Arizona. Mesa, Apache Junction. Cheap to live, lots of RV lots. Tuscon too. The weather will be top notch when you arrive.

Bus or flight to PHX or TUS are very cheap from LAS.

If I stay at motels, I'll use about 1000$ a month on sleeping alone. The first week I take as a holiday, but from then on I need to find another way. Time will tell.
If I need to rent a car, it could be one I can sleep in. Then I beat 2 flies in 1 :) Thanks about info about tool. I am glad to learn from you.
It is VERY hot in DK right now. I also think it will be very nice in Las Vegas. I am glad about your info on bus. That could also be a way to go around.

Yahooo :) Maybe we will meet when I go to see some Crocodiles and taste some Cajun food.
You say that 10k is about the lowest price at your place, but if they are good, that is also interesting !!

Have fun, sun and lots of good food
