When I would go visit my sister I would call her from the corner diner which by the way was the only thing around for over 40 miles and simply ask... What are you having for dinner when I get there? &nbsp;<div><br></div><div>When she would tell me it was goat and rattlesnake I would then share I was hours away and go ahead and eat without me. &nbsp;I ate at the diner. &nbsp;Everything tasted like chicken so not sure what that diner served lololol.</div><div><br></div><div>had escargot once but that was in my drinking days.... it was cooked in garlic and butter and everything tastes great with garlic and butter.</div><div><br></div><div>So I said all of that to share this: &nbsp;cook it with lots of butter and garlic and it will be great.</div><div><br></div><div>Mice are also edible.</div><div><br></div><div><br></div>

Allot of people never think of Chicken gizzards and hearts found in the meat section of the store... Priced at about a $1.50 a pack (meal) it is very cheap... To prepare what i do is pull out the 12" cast iron pan and heat it up with just a spoonful of Crisco... In a zip lock bag I put flour and spice up heavy with pepper and seasoning salt(Johnny's), then add cleaned gizzards and hearts and shake em up till coated... then fry them up and maybe add a side of veggies or cool salad... when done i put the hot gizzards and hearts in a paper towel lined bowl and eat like finger food... Very tasty, trust me...<br>

I have eaten a lot of weird stuff....lotsa stuff I had no idea what it was.....termites in Belize, snails, monkey hind quarter, ptarmigan, grouse, pigeon, little dried fish in Thailand, preserved duck eggs in a soup (black and quite old), lamb fries (testicals),<br>black bear, deer, elk, moose, caribou, and likely more I can't remember....<br><br>One of my favorite tv personalities is Andrew Zimmern, of the tv show Bizarre Foods...he is awesome in what he has eaten....we are omnivores you know...<br>Bri<br><br>

<br><br>Well, the obvious answer although it sounds a bit smarmy...is: "I guess you haven't been hungry enough!"..<img src="https://vanlivingforum.com/images/boards/smilies/wink.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle"><br><br>Everything I have eaten and all the foods Andrew Zimmern eats are staple or common foods in various parts of the world.<br><br>I happen to always enjoy trying new foods although I have friends and family who don't. They will eat only the same foods they are used to. I think that is terribly boring but you have to understand that I think my taste sense and my other senses are things to be enjoyed and celebrated.<br><br>JMO..of course....<br>Bri<br><br>

<p>being from the South,,,,,,&nbsp; every kind of sea food there is, i have eaten,,boiled crayfish (wonderful),, squirrel,rabbit, raccoon (very good), nutria (good) alligator, armadillo (kinda good), ducks,, plus the normal stuff....Every one needs to start working on prepping for them hard times.....</p>
