....That would be considered a legitimate meal in any country besides the wealthiest.

Put it on a menu and call it squab and you can charge $30 bucks for it.

No but I have wondered who got the notion to cream a chicken. Talk about bad vocational errors!

When I would go visit my sister I would call her from the corner diner which by the way was the only thing around for over 40 miles and simply ask... What are you having for dinner when I get there?

When she would tell me it was goat and rattlesnake I would then share I was hours away and go ahead and eat without me. I ate at the diner. Everything tasted like chicken so not sure what that diner served lololol.

had escargot once but that was in my drinking days.... it was cooked in garlic and butter and everything tastes great with garlic and butter.

So I said all of that to share this: cook it with lots of butter and garlic and it will be great.

Mice are also edible.

Allot of people never think of Chicken gizzards and hearts found in the meat section of the store... Priced at about a $1.50 a pack (meal) it is very cheap... To prepare what i do is pull out the 12" cast iron pan and heat it up with just a spoonful of Crisco... In a zip lock bag I put flour and spice up heavy with pepper and seasoning salt(Johnny's), then add cleaned gizzards and hearts and shake em up till coated... then fry them up and maybe add a side of veggies or cool salad... when done i put the hot gizzards and hearts in a paper towel lined bowl and eat like finger food... Very tasty, trust me...

I tried eating crow once---after you get it plucked there's not much there.

I have eaten a lot of weird stuff....lotsa stuff I had no idea what it was.....termites in Belize, snails, monkey hind quarter, ptarmigan, grouse, pigeon, little dried fish in Thailand, preserved duck eggs in a soup (black and quite old), lamb fries (testicals),
black bear, deer, elk, moose, caribou, and likely more I can't remember....

One of my favorite tv personalities is Andrew Zimmern, of the tv show Bizarre Foods...he is awesome in what he has eaten....we are omnivores you know...
Bri

How can ya'll even think about eating all that NASTY stuff?!! I have a hard time just eating meat! YUUUUKKK!

Well, the obvious answer although it sounds a bit smarmy...is: "I guess you haven't been hungry enough!"..

Everything I have eaten and all the foods Andrew Zimmern eats are staple or common foods in various parts of the world.

I happen to always enjoy trying new foods although I have friends and family who don't. They will eat only the same foods they are used to. I think that is terribly boring but you have to understand that I think my taste sense and my other senses are things to be enjoyed and celebrated.

JMO..of course....
Bri
