Birmingham or Montgomery might be closer for some folks, especially from along the coast, while still being accessible to people from Tenn, AR, etc.

Of course, I guess one important factor is an affordable campsite, and I'm not terribly familiar with the sites in that area.

Im from the North part of the state and routinely test my vandwelling skills at either Lake Guntersville State Park (my fav) in Guntersville Al, Montesano State Park in Huntsville Al (more touristy things to do and the rocket city... The city that helped put man on the moon.. Home of tge Space Camp aand the Space and Rocket Center.... Ive also camped at Joe WheelerState Park, these are all closer to the TN state line.  I havent camped there yet but there but Oak Mountain and Cheaha are on my list, possibly this weekend....  as far as National Forests, Cheaha is in the Talladega National Forest and here in the North we have Bankhead Forest, which I know has good camping sites for $5 night water access, potties, no electricity... Or cell service :-(  but it has picnic tables and fire rings with each spot.

II'll put up some links and I'm interested in a SE Gtg so keep me posted.  I voted HSV but I could also do the Tn sites as well.  Chattanooga is a cool place as well.  Keep me posted!

Just thinking out loud here...

I notice there are several fine folks in the Southeast area...

Would anyone be interested in attending a localized MNG?

No plans yet, no real idea as to when or where...

If you interested in attending one soon, respond to the poll, PLEASE.

That way, I will know if we should continue forth...
MNG???
Sorry Im  new .. I'm a Vamper... Have been doing so since 2009 and now am retired on a mini - budget..so fun being creative !!! I hail from Tampa Bay.. And will start rolling after a few more fixes and the holidays are over.. I've chosen to limit my distance.. My dad. Being 90 is my concern ..though he has a partner he is quite represses and not mobile. So I've committed to being near by and visiting  at least every 2- to three weeks.

Late Spring I might.. I am a warm ...thin blooded ole gal hahhaha

MNG = Meet And Greet...

Kinda like a rtr (Rubber Tramp Rendouvous) wanna be...

Update: I am working on getting some RV related items for a raffle and door prizes!
(I already have two items!!!!)

I checked Nashville because it's the closest to Kansas City and it would fit into my plans to eventually drive the Natchez Trace.

October or May-June would be the prime time though, for me.

Nice! Your welcome to join us wherever we end up.

FYI, Rhea Springs are not that much further, maybe an hour and a half?

The Natchez Trace and VICKSBURG, are on our bucket list...

So... There is interest.

I asked to close this thread and poll.

But check the section for the next level of discussions, OK?
