Hello to all. I'm formerly anninavan from vandwellers and know a few of you here from that site. I finished building out my E-150 and it's great! I am currently in Alaska, my life long dream trip, and what can I say after that? I'm living my dream, I love my van, and the tips and tricks I've learned from other van dwellers have been a huge help. So thanks (you know who you are), and I am eager to learn more from the vanners here. Onward through the fog! Ann

Welcome!! Looking forward to hearing of your adventures

Hi Ann! Nice to see you here from Vandweller forum! Thanks for all your helpful replies in the past! I am still in process of tricking out my own E150, it's my weekend obsession! Going to finally have a flip down ceiling DVD player/TV unit installed next week. Also looking into a Yakima Skybox 18 or 21 model rooftop box for carrying my 2 folding bicycles. Just got a new Sony laptop too. I just can't stop spending! Help, help...haha! -Casey

Welcome Annivan. Do you plan on visiting the Kenai? Give me a shout if you're passing through Soldotna. Maybe I can direct you to some awesome spots in the area. Enjoy the views...hope the weather is good for you...Beware of bears and moose right now...The moose have just calved and are very protective and the bears want at least one of the twins...Several attacks in Anchorage already.

Rae

Thank you all for the warm welcome! Sorry for the delay in responding but Internet access is spotty (!!).

Casey: Funny, my van has that drop down tv/DVD player and I'm thinking of removing it and putting in a fantastic vent fan. To watch a movie, I'll use my laptop. Which is a rare occurrence anyway, lol.

Rae: I may be down there in a week or two. I spent three nights in Denali Natl Park and saw...a rabbit. That's all. It was a cute rabbit. But I'm beginning to think these stories about bears and moose and caribou are from somebody smoking too much of something! Lol!

Tomorrow, I depart Fairbanks for the Haul Road to Deadhorse/Prudhoe Bay. I am discovering all the stuff about "carry three spares and extra cans of fuel" are pretty much not correct. I drove the first few miles of it already and the road was better than the Park Rd going into Denali! And it's less than 250 miles between gas stations. Do the math; I can do that with fuel to spare. 30 gal tank @ 15 mpg is 450 miles. So off I go tomorrow. I'll be back on here in a week or
so.

I can't believe I've been gone over four weeks already. I'm proud of the van's
performance and have found only a few small things to tweak. Yay!

Happy trails!
Ann

Hi Ann!

Glad to hear you're doing well in your travels. Did you ever get a rear tire rack and/or a ladder installed for your van rear doors? I'm wondering if this is worth it.

Casey
