Amazon is now hiring campers to work this Fall (usually Sept/Oct to December 23rd) at 4 of our fulfillment centers (where the elves work at Amazon to bring you all your purchases!). For more information and to apply go to:

From what I've seen of the working conditions, no thanks. Constantly on a timer that starts beeping if you fall behind, constantly being reminded to work on getting your numbers up, on your feet all day, racing around... Too stressful.

That's the way they treat their full-time employees, but it is NOT the way they treat the camperforce. They set realistic goals for older retired people and even if you don't meet them at worst you'll get a gentle reminder or offer of help to improve.

They need the camperforce as much as the campers need them so they do everything they can to treat you good so you come back.

however, you're on your feet 10 hours a day plus overtime as the season goes on and that's hard on old bones. I's not for everybody!! The biggest complaint I've heard is that the constant use of the hand-held computer hurts peoples wrists, sometimes severely.

You get old you have physicality issues. You don't heal up as fast from repetitive use of muscles and bones.

It's great that amazon recognition of older workers issues helps a lot of people maintain an income.

You take your chances with all physical jobs.
