Accidentally discovered the effectiveness of a curtain

I have a cheap Walmart blackout curtain between the cab and the back of the van. I use it for privacy rather than keeping light in or out. There's a five inch gap where it doesn't match the contours of the van wall.

Last night I forgot to close the driver's window. It got down to the low 40s but I didn't notice. Hmmmmm...

I bough some black fabric, kind of like floor vinyl/fake leather. I glued some velcro on one side as well as patches of it on the ceiling of the van. I just post it up at night and tear it down in the morning. This way no one sees a curtain when the van is parked; only at night when it's to dark to notice/pay mind.
