Hello!
I will be giving up my "house" in just over a month. I have a car and camping equipment and thanks to other knowledgeable travelers I have rigged a bed in my car where I can lie flat. I only have a Chevy Sonic so storage is def at a premium. I'll be boondocking around my home area (Joshua Tree) till my work season (pet sitter) ends or the RTR, whichever comes first. This will give me a chance to work the bugs out of my rig in a known area. Hopefully I'll have saved enough cash in a year to buy a van. That's my goal. I am really afraid and excited. I'm a good planner so I hope that saves me some heartache. I want to reset my DNA and stop living in fear every day of the looming catastrophe - whichever catastrophe is this week's favorite. Also can't wait to meet other women like myself - and those that are different.
Fair winds and let's roam!

Welcome, ODG. It sounds like you're getting some good experience ahead of time. A lot of it, especially in regards getting things organized, you'll pick up as you go. Direct experience is always #1. If you've not seen it, you might check out this woman's youtube channel, Bob Wells interviewed her a few months ago.

Also, I'm not up to speed, but the CRVL caravans should be moving south in the next 2 or 3 months. One is specifically for women, and a couple more mixed. From JT you can be in Parker AZ in 3 or 4 hours.

We're all diffrent....it comes with being a vehicle dweller, LOL. It will get easier in 3 weeks...that's about how long any change to one's life takes for an adjustment. During that time, you can tweak your rig and ask here on this forum for suggestions to solve any snags you run into. Think of all the money you'r saving! Awesome!

Welcome Teresa to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

a buddy of mine has a place out the 247 on the other side of Landers, I hang out there on occasion. maybe we will run into each other one day.

Great post!
So happy you are doing for yourself and following your new path as you want!!

I also am sick of 'the weekly catastrophes' that are out there, I so hear ya on that.

Get out and enjoy life on your terms, best anyone can do :)
