Having trouble with running lights but I am able to close the tailgate with it loaded, was wondering about the legality of having no running lights it seems if I can fully enclose the camper in the 8 foot bed it's negligible. and with the tailgate up looks like no one is home or inside while I am just able to crawl through the back window into the camper.

legality would depend on state law where you're at.
, so you'll have to check on that state

if you are having problems with your running lights more than likely it's the grounds. they ground through a sheet metal screw into the shell. over time these screw get loose, and corrode. it's a piss poor way to do it. if you can't or don't want to run separate ground wires you need to improve the ground contacts. sometimes you can use a larger screw to get a new bite on the sheet metal. sometimes you need to move the light just a little and get a new hole penetration. if you replace the screws use stainless screws. one other thing to check for sometimes it is the light fixture themselves where the problem lies. the have rusted over the years because they used cheap fixtures that are only copper coated. in this case replace the fixture. highdesertranger

WHat HDR said - this is the very reason I ran a ground wire from a ground bar to every single light.

Sounds like a sound plan. Will be hardwiring my panel tomorrow. up on the ladder and will check this out, thank you guys. I realize six-Pac was not the Top Of The Line, and that would explain a lot. Be getting me some better class LED solid copper wired asap
