hey everyone I'm looking to buy a fan or 2 for my van i already have a cheap 12 volt clamp fan i got from walmart but it is rather noisy so I'm looking for something a little bigger and if at all possible quieter. i looked around some of my local stores and have yet to find one other than what i have already. any suggestion on websites or links to models or even a model number would be greatly appreciated.

I think the Endless breeze is highly rated.

It is possible to add a speed controller to the wally world fan and make it quieter and consume less:

I have a couple of those speed controllers, as yet unemployed.

My internal fans are Vantec Tornado 92 and 80mm computer muffin fans on Goosenecks. One of them is on a spring clamp so I can move it where ever.

I use a voltage controller as a speed controller. This one specifically.

Exchanging exterior air for interior air is more effective than moving around interior air for comfort. Both is better.

I've been using this one for a few years now and love it:

I got it from a camping store for $30. I glued the magnetic base to my ceiling so I can pop it up and aim it at my head when I need it or stash it when I don't. It will stick to any steel surface if you need more mounting locations.

It does make some noise - not sure how it compares to others.

A company called O2 Cool makes a great fan for little money. WalMart sells them but they often run out. I've seen it re-branded under several names. WalMart sells them under their Ozark Trails brand name and all the truck stops sell them under the Roadpro brand name.

Mine is a Roadpro and I got it at a Pilots truck stop for $20. Amazon also sell them.

I bought an O2 cool at Gander Mountain, the one that takes 8 D cell batteries and used it last night for the first time. Didn't last 8 hours. The batteries died down. I'm trading that in for two smaller ones that last 40 hours on six D cells.

I have two O2 Cool 12V fans, and have used one in my minivan when camping. On batteries, it lasted a couple nights. This was in coolish weather, so I had it running on low. It can also run on 12V from the vehicle, with the proper cable. It comes with an AC wall plug adapter, but any good electrical/electronic supply place should have a 12V cigarette plug cable to fit. Or use the AC adapter cable with the cigarette plug swapped on.
I have used the 3V and 6V O2 Cool fans too, but they don't seem to last very long - the bearings fail.

well i definitly appreciate the help i ended up picking up the rechargable o2cool fan that has both adapters and also will run off regular bateries.i had an amazon gift card so it only came out to about 25.00 out of pocket with shipping so it was reasonable. ill post back with a report once i use it for a few weeks not sure i will have much to say that has not already been said but you never know.
