Well, by 'Cracker Box' I was referring to the shape of my Class A RV, not the restaurant. I have overnighted at Walmart and Tractor Supply, and prefer almost anyplace except truck stops.
I don't count on family for anything, therefore I am never disappointed.

Then your UPS Store needs to be reported to UPS. Some Franchisees are taking the piss and tacking on fees they are not authorized to. It should be free, as in hold for pickup. It is included in what you already paid.

I hate UPS. I Hate UPS Stores even more. The one near me is full of idiots that handed me somebody else's packages. I could have kept them as I didn't sign for them. They also don't give you free UPS boxes so they can sell you theirs.

The only good thing about UPS is the drivers. They are pretty cool. You can flag one down and they will take a package or give you yours if you track it on the truck using the app.

Fedex is much better.

Mail forwarding services can be expensive. But they are often located in spaces they are paying rent on and they are often paying salaries for the employees. Plus they have other normal business expenses such as insurance, utilities, internet connection, legal fees, business licenses, blah, blah, blah. Room for holding big boxes for a one time customer means more physical space and less regular income.

So do try to keep it in perspective why they charge fees for the service.

The Safeway stores now have an arrangement with FEDEX so if you are using FEDEX for a shipment you can pick it up for free at many of the Safeway stores. Good for the stores since most people who are picking up a package will take time to get groceries while they are in there. Might as well save on time and money if you are already there. I know I would be doing that if I was picking up a package.

OK, so now the UPS in NC will ship to the UPS in Glendale AZ (suburb of Phoenix AZ) and the folks in Glendale say $5 or $7.50 to hold for pick up depending on weight/size. I just don't know what to expect, so I'm OK with that.
Now that the meds are nation-wide at Walgreens, we will just have to not order crap and stop reshipping the stuff all over the country. Must be part of the RV-living learning curve that I am having trouble climbing!
We also need to learn that having your stuff in your hand is truely cheaper than getting a 'discount with free shipping' when they ship your stuff 2300 miles away! LOL!
