    InstaPot - size?

MrNoodly, Potatoes in 5 minutes once up to temp.  It is a pressure cooker and overall uses energy efficiently.  We make hummus from scratch with dried chick peas, 60 minutes later it's being devoured.  Beans cook quicker as well without having to soak, even quicker if you do soak overnight...

    origin of the Jackalope

While living in Casper Wyoming we often went to Douglas for work. That is where the original Jackalope resided and was found in the 50's. Must have been a cousin to the Bavarian Wolpertinger of ancient lore.

need help selecting & building out a mini bus

If you stay with a pre 2006 you won't have to deal with the emissions junk which did't work very well until recently Im not sure what is available in CA, but that might determine your options. Make sure you can not just register, but insure the vehicle. If it has air brakes it will take an...

    Need to change, fast

Hi Tom, Speaking French gives you a heads up, as it proves a certain level of intelligence.....I need a secret decoder ring to figure out pronunciations for traffic signs in Montreal.......:) As for vehicles, I would tend to list your needs first. Sleeping in a dry area? Some warmth, may be...

    Buses

I drive class A, overweight and hazmat. Hopefully this won't present much of a problem.....but then again backup cameras sound like a real good investment.... As for insurance, we got a commercial policy for personal use. Body style on the registration was changed to truck. This will be a 2...

Trolley Electrical System Questions About Batteries Mostly

I found T-105 RE on amazon   6ea for @ $1100. So to verify my thoughts 6 batteries at 6v and 225 AH should be 1350 AH at 6v which is 8100 watt hours 2x3 arrangement for 12V would give the 8100 watts and reduce the amp hours to 675. So what would the size of her solar arrangement need to be?

    12V Chargeable Tool Systems

I was impressed with the Ryobi set I purchased while out west. Even with the small batteries it would stir a 5 gallon bucket of drywall mud. I would put the Dewalt below that, but it has been 10 years since I've been in construction That being said we have upgraded to a Makita with the 5a...

    Square Tales....let the adventure begin

So I tried to post a pic of the bus but I will have to use A computer to resize. Yes it's a 71 passenger school bus, 29 feet from back door to rear edge of the drivers seat I don't know if 600 watt hours will be enough, I'm looking into several battery types, from lead acid to LiFePh. NiFe as...

    Square Tales....let the adventure begin

Well the wife and her dog gave permission for the adventure to pass the thinking stage.  We pulled the plug on a 2002 Freightliner with a Cat diesel, Allison Trans, hydraulic disc brakes.  No leaks, 96000 miles, and 29' of living space behind the driver seat.   I ran across this site while...

We have been on the fence for a while, this week we pulled the trigger on a 2002 Skoolie, 71 passenger. cat Diesel engine, Allison trans, hydraulic disc brakes, and just a bit of rust after 96000 miles. After 5 minutes in the DMV Monday, I walked out with it registered in our name as a Motor...

I looked at the cost of living for Vermont on the website listed my MIT. boy are they way off for housing. For 2 adults in Washington County a 2 bedroom (very small) apartment goes for $800 in a section 8 rental without electricity, just renting a room starts at $350 and goes way up from...

If your vehicle has a tilt, do you...

Yup what they all said. reduce the amount the springs are lifting, then add in the shocks or airbags to bring it back up to where you need it. Then again buying more tools always seems appropriate.

How does one *effectively* clean a thermos?

There are two ways I clean my stanley SS thermos. 1. Use a spash of dishwasher type dish soap. @1/4 full of hot water and shake like a bartender on TV. 2. fill with hot water and add a tablespoon of OXYCLEAN type cleaner. I do not recommend the Tide brand as it took a month to get the...

Like above, driving it around corners and up a steep hill (if you can find one) will tell you a lot.

    Camper Living

I joined this forum under Trout Valium in Wyoming a few years ago, but unfortuneately I couldn't get back on so now it is just trout.. I picked up a used 1977 9' slide in for my F-150 while in the oil field. It had the shower/toilet unit, 3 burner stove/oven/heater (propane), fridge, hot water...

    FloorPlans-Layout drafts - requesting input

Working on little sleep so I hope to be coherent On BOS B and C you mentioned no pass through from the front. Why? I didn't see the front of the van on the layout as well. If you keep the front seat and install a rotating one, couldn't it be used facing the living area for company as well or...

Sir Joey, thanks for the complement. 2 days ago I.returned to my camper from shopping inside when several vehicle dwellers were about to get into a heated and probably fisted discussion. Apparently someone they had a pecking order for the corner (begging cash) and one of them had stayed 15...
