    Pirate Camp Winter Season '23-24

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I am feeling better and hope to be released today. Flu plus severe lung inflammation shook me to the core. Breathing treatments, oxygen, and lots of drugs have restored me. I am thankful for modern medicine. And I will be discharged soon.

    Public Toilets

This thread is funny but also real. But yea, I have been in pit toilets that were nasty and others that appeared pretty clean. Please don't hover - that just makes a disgusting mess. Instead, just line the seat with with a couple of long strips of toilet paper. Problem solved. Sent from my...

Yep. I am definitely ready for some new adventures with you in the putt-putt. [emoji7] Also hope to join you for the quilting/sewing meetups. I will bring my crochet or cross stitch or whatever I am working on. Never been into rock hounding, but who knows, I might like that as well. Sent from...

    You Ain't Right Club

Well said, Cammilu. As most of you know, I started this journey in my 21yo car. I never once felt that any of my fellow campers looked down on me for not having a bigger or better rig. I was taught as a child not to judge a book by its cover. That's still good advice. I am more interested in...

    You Ain't Right Club

And you do a lot more! 1) takes newcomers on the ATV to see petroglyphs, abandoned mines and other fantastic sites in the desert 2) informs newcomers what there is to do in town such as rockhounding, quilting, special events, etc. 3) picks up everyone's garbage daily and takes it to the...

Seriously, so you want to be in love again...

I was not looking for a partner. Neither was Doug. But we found one another. So it's not impossible, even for old farts. [emoji3059] Sent from my moto g(7) optimo maxx(XT1955DL) using Tapatalk

@PODebbie Not sure if I get a vote, but I am in the first rig to arrive at the YARC camp so I might qualify. I would vote you in based solely on your denture adventure. I can relate. I have had dentures since age 30. Long story short: A viral infection destroyed my teeth. Had multiple surgeries...

    Alo, Alo!

I agree with others here -- you're already caring for your dogs, so doing it on the road won't be much different. The only thing I would add is that if you stay at RV parks and many campsites, they need to be leashed while outdoors. Boondocking, not so much. It sounds like a change of scenery...

    New from Lakewood, Colorado

Ditto to everything you said!  I am considering a small popup tent in case I start feeling too cramped in the car, but I really don't want to fool with a tent on my first roadtrip. What made you decide to get a tent? Thanks for the warm welcome.
