    Solar generators

Same system since 2016 still working, but obviously by now the 2× 100Ah agm batteries are needing replacement. So I'm considering 100 Ah LFP to retain my present system for the van, suggestions?. I also want to get a solar generator such as ecoflow, jackery, bluetti, ln the 1200Wa range, less...

    Everything under the hood

Have been using a VSR for 4 years now with no problems. I used it as part of a build up over time as funds would allow. Nothing is foolproof, but solid state electronics are pretty reliable in my opinion.

    Blaux Portable AC?

I fell for the advertising hype and have one of those small evaporative coolers, total waste of money. Seriously doubt it would be any good even with low humidity.

    Drilling accurately

Take one of your bolts that you would use in the nutserts, cut off the head and file into a point. Install this into the nutsert so the point is protruding, place your 2x4 where you want it positioned,push/tap on the 2x4 to leave a mark/dimple in the wood, then use that mark to accurately drill...

Is there a wiring device for fan.. help

The Maxxair 7000 series has the built in thermostat that you can set the temperature to open/close automatically, so if you were out on a hike when it gets to the SET temperature it will open and fan run without your presence. Plus with the way the cover is designed the fan can still run and...

what are you doing while under lockdown?

I've been working on a skin on frame kayak through this period, and being one of the folks in the hi  risk category I certainly do not want to be around unknown folks in grocery stores etc. So I needed a 4x8 sheet hi density foam to add in the bow and stern for flotation, and low and behold Home...

    Transit handling in the mountains???

I think other than a lead foot wind is the single biggest factor with respect to fuel consumption, I have seen as much as 6mpg difference from driving into a headwind as opposed to a tailwind. That being said I tend to cruise about 63-68 on freeways and can usually get 18.6 the best I've ever...

Question about Campers in the US vs Britten

Another consideration is that the vast majority of vehicles in the UK are diesels, so torque is a factor. My Sister pulls there caravan with a Kia Sportage ( 2 ltr diesel ). Another friend over there pulls with an Audi 2 ltr diesel, there trailers are lighter at approx 2,000 lbs plus I think...

    Passenger or Cargo Van?

I can only speak for the Ford transit passenger wagons all the rear passenger seats exept the single jump seat have quick release tabs to allow removal, but as mentioned are heavy, I used a cheap dolly to move them on my own. I personally really enjoy the full windows (tinted for privacy )...
