I have some holes in my Transit where I've installed nutserts, having trouble accurately drilling into my 2x4s with my drill press. When it's off by just 1mm, the screw is no longer aligned and I have to start over, any tips on how y'all have done it?

Take one of your bolts that you would use in the nutserts, cut off the head and file into a point. Install this into the nutsert so the point is protruding, place your 2x4 where you want it positioned,push/tap on the 2x4 to leave a mark/dimple in the wood, then use that mark to accurately drill your hole.

I'm planning to screw them into the sides of the wall so I have something to secure cabinets and my bed platform to, but it sounds like I may have possibly raised a red flag, please share your thoughts!

IMO 2x4's are totally unnecessary. use 1x2, 2x2, and plywood. keep it light, 2x4's are way overkill. highdesertranger
