Several years ago, I took the family to Yellowstone in May. I checked the weather and it said the temperature was in the 60-70 degree range so we packed up our camping gear and took off. I thought it was odd that we were able to reserve a campsite so easily. When we arrived we found our site to covered in 2-3 feet of snow! The only way we could have stayed there was if we scooped out the site. Not! So we moved on and found a cabin in Montana.

I am planning a trip to Florida and back via GA, AL, MO, MS and AR. I have checked AL (for example) and it shows the temperatures in the 50's during the day and 30's at night. Does anyone know a website that that would tell me not just the weather but the ground conditions too? I don't have any fixed plans on where I will stay each night, I stay where my traveling takes me.

Skyline Webcams is a collection of Tower Cams (like TV Stations use) across the USA. If you can find one close to your destination it may give you an idea of what the ground conditions are there. Skyline is only one of many sites and some only focus on City or Highway views, which can be handy when on the road. So look to see what may be available. The other suggestions are good too.

I'm living in Central Florida (Orlando-ish) now, and have lived in FL for half of my life. The weather here has been wildly unpredictable for the last month or so. It has been as low as low 40s to as high as high/mid 70s. South Florida (Miami-ish) is hot all year. North Florida (Jacksonville to the panhandle) actually gets down to freezing temps in the winter (sometimes), but the chances of seeing snow on the ground anywhere in Florida are slim-to-nil. I hope this helps.

Thanks Jasonafeder2. I have a neice that lives near Orlando and she said the same thing. I just have to get there first. 😋 For the last two weeks......it's been showing rain/snow in the other states. Oh well, guess I will take the good with the bad.
