Hello everybody,

We're 2blonds2usa (Steven & Vanessa).

We're a peacefull couple, originally from New Paltz (New York) but we both lived for about 30+ years in The Netherlands. Steven's parents moved to the Netherlands when he was 6. Vanessa was adopted at the age of 4 by a Dutch couple and moved to the Netherlands.

In 2017 we'd quit our job, sold our house and all our belongings. With only 2 suitcases we made the trip to Florida to pick up our van. Since then we travel in our 19ft van across the country.

Until now we've been in the difficult part (what they say) to boondock; the east coast.
We travel from South to North (and back, depending on the weather) and every time we try to shift more to the west.

We never stay in RV parks, but always boondock. In our van we have; stove, refrigerator, sink, water, toilet, GPS, wifi, television, solar, generator and a place to sleep and eat.
In the past we sometimes stayed at peoples house and did chores for them in exchange for food and a place to sleep (or park our van).

When we're traveling we try to overnight at Walmart, Sam's club, cracker barrel, Publix, neighborhood, abandoned places, etc. Last month we were lucky and found a free campground.

Next month we'll be traveling from Venice, FL to the Panhandle and from there thu Alabama working our way up to Michigan. During our trip we'll try to stay at hosts from Boondockers Welcome.

What our journey will be after Michigan is not known yet. We have to figure out a place to stay in the winter, where it is warm.

We hope to meet and make new friends thru this forum and on the road.

Welcome to the CRVL forums! To help you learn the ins and outs of these forums, this "Tips, Tricks and Rules" post lists some helpful information to get you started.

Most of our rules boil down to two simple over-riding principles: 1) What you post should provide good information (like your introductory post), and 2) Any response to someone else's post should make them feel glad they are part of this forum community.

We look forward to hearing more from you.

Welcome to the forum....

When in the Gulf Coast area, be sure to check out the Navarre Beach FL area. Take the island road between Navarre and Pensacola. I can't find a more lovely beach anywhere.

Just make sure it's not during seabird hatching season. Most of the road and beach from right outside PCola Beach up to Navarre Beach is severely restricted both speed and access wise during that time frame (which might be right about now actually) Check and see it's no fun during that time.

Good Luck!

I've been down there many times, I have seen the speed limit reduced to 20 along the main road.
