Would like to email with others about fulltime rving 4wd

Hi everybody out there in full time RVing land!  I have a 1950 Spartanette Tandem 27' all aluminum travel trailer and a 1978 Chevy Silverado camper special 3/4 ton pickup 2wd 454 engine to pull it with.  I am thinking what I really want for full time RVing is a smaller 4wd truck pulling something like the runaway camper venturi 4wd mini trailer.  Offgrid as much as possible; total internet/cellular.  Hot showers and laundry capable.  My truck and trailer are 40' long on the freeway and I think I need to downsize to be truly comfortable full time RVing. Anybody who would be willing to correspond with me about how I could best get started full time RVing (Lake Havasu Van Build then RTR) would be greatly appreciated.  Love the new forum and the community that seems to be forming.  Thanks, Jennie M. from Mt.    P.S.   I have been greatly inspired by Bob Wells' podcasts and movie/Carolyn'sRV/Enigmatic Nomadic/Tikki/Lee's Incredible Van Build/Jim from Denver.  Feel alive and excited about my future life for the first time in a long time.  Would love to start corresponding with other like-minded folks.

I pull my 25 foot trailer with my 2003 Expedition. There are times especially lately that real 4x4 low has been required to get over the rocks. It may not be a Jeep and my old hunters pick up trailer but it goes places most will not attempt.

I recently bought a 4WD pickup with topper to pull my 6x12 cargo trailer, and I'm 36 feet long bumper to bumper.

This combination JUST fits in 2 standard parking lot spaces, end to end. So it's fairly easy to park when in town running errands, buying supplies, etc. 

I have not yet had an opportunity to test the off-road ability, figuring I can easily navigate most dirt roads, but I have no plans to slosh thru muddy quicksand or attempt to crawl along rutted, rocky goat trails. 

Pulling a trailer limits your off-road abilities, unless you have something like a Rubicon or Unimog, pulling a high-clearance over-landing camper.

But, with a smaller rig overall, you should be able to go some places that larger travel trailers would fear to tread.

Hello, I watched the video with you and Bob the other day. You was talking about the Hot Spot for internet and I will be coming to Ariz. in oct. could u plz. tell me if I need anything else beside the Hot Spot and since I will be in my jeep I was wondering about an antenna. It can't be anything big .   Thanks Linda
