I camped at a site that had a workcamper and the bathrooms was dirty, I would not take a shower. Had not been cleaned for months. Should I report this man? He was living there for just the site rent and no pay.

James AKA Lynx

take pictures with your cellphone. find the owner contact information, with some white lie, like you wish to ask a question about nearby land owners. be anonymous with your discussion, and positive supportive of the owner. maybe the workcamper is his brother in law. let owner know, and move on. ask owner to remain anonymous and to respect that.

I'd report him. You probably had to pay for your site and that included use of shower/restrooms.

Thanks, This was in a National Forest in Texas. Tent camping ONLY area and I stayed in the overflow about 1/4 mile away and did not have to pay. Sad that he only had 30 sites and 4 showers and toilets. Almost nobody was there during the week.

A lot (if not all ) of the camp host who work the state parks in texas are not paid, but get their campsite for free, and do a fantastic job of keeping the shower restrooms clean on a daily basis. They also do other chores around the park, picking up litter, cleaning out fire pits and lots of other things. I don't know why the natl forest camp host can't do the same, but i've seen similar bad conditions at one or two natl forest areas.

Complain to the NF ranger station. Many NF campgrounds are run by contractors, and such complaints are taken very seriously.
