I may have chosen this new campsite poorly...
In my defense it was quite calm when I got here, and in my old spot even 20mph winds (per the weather service) were not an issue. But here... holy
!!! Knock you down level, thrash my rig around, etc. I thought those mountains north of me would block the wind some, but I should have known better... they just make it more chaotic, which means insane gusts and whirlwinds on a periodic basis, not just during the day but 2 out of 5 nights so far!
It is good hiking though, and I have sight of the mountain with the cell towers, so good internet!
How has the wind in Quartzsite been lately?
