WOW, just finished reading part two of wilson 4g booster on blog, so I decided to go ahead and purchase one, so when I clicked the link the price is already up to $149 dollars, from 114, guess I will wait since I don't really need it until January, maybe I can shop around and find a used one? But if you want one now I guess you better get to it  before they go up again, or run out.

Just to clairrify a little, the Wilson Sleek is an amplifier that does a great job of increasing your cell signal. I'm 20 miles away from a tower here and yet I'm getting a strong, steady 4 bar of 4g signal with the Sleek and a a Wilson Directional Antenna.

Wilson is changing it's name to weboost and raising all it's prices. The new Sleek with be $200 even though it is the exact same thing, just cosmetic changes. If you want one at the old price, you need to buy one right now!!

I just did a 2 part review of the Sleek and instructions on how to mount the Antenna here:

Apparently Amazon is raising the price as supplies run out, so if you want one, get it soon. If you order one, if you will go to my blog pages above and click on the link from the post, I'll make a few dollars and it will cost you nothing.

I highly recommend it, it's incredible how much it helps a marginal signal.

omg, going up fast, I guess I will order it since thats 2 jumps in two days, not in budget now but going to bite bullet and do battery next month. I am headed to blog now to link to it.
Thanks, Dan - the oldogre

It is done, just ordered it, I figured would come in handy when I meet up with my sister on her travels, going to wait on antenna, but I will get one eventually.  I am sure I would be hard pressed to find a used one, still saving money for when they go up again, also is a high priority since it could be a lifesaver!  Thanks for the blog about it.

You're welcome, I'm a big fan of the Sleek. It's by far the cheapest and easiest way to get amplified cell signal for any device.

I just did a Google search on "Wilson Sleek 4G".  Best buy is still selling it for $115.  Prices are all over the place right now, depending on how many items a retailer has, and how anxious they are to move them.  Don't assume Amazon is the best price you can get.

I really appreciate how you describe what you use, it is invaluable especially when making tough decisions of what may be needed to someone new to prepare to full time.

In this case it all depends how important getting data is to you and how much time you will spend in remote situations. If it's no big deal if you get a signal and you spend most of your time in the city, the Sleek is a waste of money.

But it's very important to me to get a signal and most of my time is spent in the middle of nowhere so it's worth its weight in gold to me!

I just ordered mine, from the "used" list. Original packaging with a little scratch on it from Amazon Warehouse. With sales tax plus two day shipping my total was $115. There are quite a few at this price right now, if anyone is interested.

Almost ordered one because of the price jump. Then I remembered I had the 3G version which for me never improved reception. That was two years ago and I did not have the directional antenna.

Can afford the more expensive version later. When I need to use it.

I got it Saturday as promised, and not a real test but in my driveway was getting 2 bars and plugged in and had 4 bars, not bad for being under large oak tree and between 2 houses, I will use blue tooth headset my sister gave me, since it seems so powerful, thanks for that tip Bob.

Was also thinking this could be a great playing field leveler for using AT&T or TMOBILE. if you are in an area where there is slight coverage, you might get a useful signal.

might be in certain circumstances, but where I am going to be verizon is only carrier in area and am sure it won't be a strong signal so this is one of many reason's I got it. too old to be out of touch for a long time.

I have all the extender and booster equipment and directional antennas too in my wish list on Amazon. Can't afford to hit the buy now button, there's like $500 worth... Plus I'm not traveling, so do t need it yet. Once I retire I will... Too bad I do t have the fu do set aside to get it all now! I'll just keep waiting and paying more later... Course, I may work another year here locally so may not need it either... Gotta feed the van first, and do all my maintenance before I get toys...

I hear that, I am trying to get one item a month that is a big ticket,I screwed up royally this past month because I purchased amp/booster, and forgot about insurance renewal, oh well guess no house battery for me next month, but thats ok I still have a little time before I must leave my place, still gonna have to cut my biscuits and gravy out once in a while I like to get from my fav local breakfast place
