Your brain is lying to you about the “good old days”

The science behind why we think the past was better than the present.

Back when America was "greater" than it is now......and other Politicians lies
to gain office. Since no one lived 100 years ago including the Politicians,

It's gets to be like "The Seven Cities of Gold" just over the hills. (only ...just vote for me and I'll restore America to it's earlier Greatness. (for the very wealthy)

In the 1950s, the middle class salary in the United States was around $3,000–$4,000 per year. This is equivalent to about $65,009 in today's dollars.

According to a 2024 Charles Schwab survey, the average American considers a net worth of $2.5 million to be wealthy. This is up from $2.2 million in 2023 and 2022.

Crazy wealthy when you consider the cost of housing in my opinion! Seems to me you would own outright and maintain a million dollar home a couple new vehicles a bunch of toys and still have no problems paying all bills. The main expense would be if you didn’t listen to your trainer and became unhealthy! Definitely money would have to be making money and supporting tax breaks again in my opinion.

In past years there has been some effort to create new jobs for those that started disappearing in 1980-85, and again 2000-2009. Manufacturing in the USA was at it's peak in 1979.

In past years there has been some effort to create new jobs for those that started disappearing in 1980-85, and again 2000-2009. there were precipitous declines in US manufacturing jobs; it is estimated that 1/3 of U.S. manufacturing jobs vanished in the eight years between 2001 and 2009, and few have returned, the worst period for U.S. manufacturing since the Great Depression.

How many US jobs have been offshored?
How many US jobs have been outsourced? In order to find the appropriate workforce or cut costs, US businesses have outsourced 14.3 million jobs.

Bureau of Labor Statistics
In June 1979, manufacturing employment reached an all-time peak of 19.6 million. In June 2019, employment was at 12.8 million, down 6.7 million or 35 percent from the all-time peak.

Manufacturing Booms Thanks to Biden-Harris Administration Investments

During the Biden-Harris Administration, over 700,000 new manufacturing jobs have been created and over $910 billion in private manufacturing investments have been announced nationwide. As manufacturing has soared, so too has the opportunity for workers of all backgrounds to get good-paying, quality jobs.

2024's strongest job prospects in these fields:

The job market in the United States is expected to remain strong in 2024, with growth in health care, government, and social assistance. Some of the fastest growing jobs include wind turbine service technicians, solar photovoltaic installers, and nurse practitioners

But this may see major changes in 2025....and have definate impact on the Z'ers. Although age descrimination is supposed to be illegal...how many young folks want to work around boomers ? Or boomers want to work around kids ? If you've been in this situation did you notice lines drawn and age groups forming cliques ?
