This is for the folks, you know who you are, who are on the road for real. No offense to those who are working in that direction. Just the ones out there living it! Roughly, where are you, where are you headed, what's next? Doesn't need to be specific.

I am headed up the coast of California. It's been quite a while since I've done the HWY 1 thing, so I'm doing it again! But I keep getting sidetracked I ended up in LA helping my friend move her house with baby. She got a 16' moving truck, and it's literally crammed FULL of stuff, and there is still stuff out that doesn't fit inside (but I think Ferdy could carry the rest of it, so she will probably just get a van or a few car trips for the rest of it).

I find it a little Ironic, that the moving truck is the same kind of vehicle as Ferdy (E-350), but it has a giant box van back, and I have a traditional cargo van back. I live out of mine, hers is temporarily carrying her stuff to some other major city.

Me and Ferdy, we have everything here with us for daily living (granted, no baby), and we have room to stretch out, stare off into the sunrises and sunsets, etc. I'm glad I'm not a 'Stuff dweller'.

Kat and I are newbies to the life. We're in the Big Bad and looking to head anyplace warmer than where we're at currently. Next winter I only want to experience the snow and cold by seeing it on TV.

Las Vegas Bay campground in Lake Mead NRA. The campground doesn't have hookups and we're in the no generator loop with a great view of the lake and mountains - so peaceful and beautiful. $5.00 with my Access Pass!

Our plan, starting sometime in April, is to meander along Route 66, hopefully doing the entire route from L.A. to Chicago. Most of the road isn't really there any more but it's still a fun trip.

I've been planning on doing a route 66 tour from Chicago to Los Angeles too. You'd be surprised how much of route 66 is still there.

In SF right now just in 1500 mile test trip with a full load Las Vegas Quartzite Josua tree hit the coast at Carpenteria meandered back to work E350 7.3 did not let me down approx 20 mpg with a full load. I tried owl just no people to sell to in Q

Sorry I missed you when you were here. Where did you try to sell? Q is pretty well done by mid to late Feb.

Hey owl sent you a email from mac donalds in Q Yah jerky rusty tools and solar panel hawkers not much else had a great trip confirmed E350 loaded roadworthy. We will connect at some point. over and out

Sorry wagon, didn't get the email. Pulled into Pahrump Nv. Thursday afternoon. Came here to shed the dreaded Calif. citizenship. New desert to explore for Kate the dog and me. Anyone else move lately?

Ran into a couple of folks from Q already here in Pahrump.

We're in Sahuarita (just south of Tucson). Getting everything set to leave Friday (3-29) with a stop in Tucson for a set of new tires.
Then Kingman, Vegas (on the cheap) and up the middle of Nv. The plan is to cut over thru Kalamath Falls to Coos Bay and take 101 up the Or coast to Astoria. The summer will be spent visiting DWs family scattered around Oregon.

We will be looking for any places we can park for free in our 27' class A. Truck stops, WallyWorld (where allowed), rest stops, and such will be our targets.
We plan to take the entire month of April to reach Astoria doing short drives daily for a change of scenery.

We will post a thread/log with freebies we find and hope others will share what they know about this route.
Also, hope to meet up with other members along the way.

Peace,
J & M & Bindi

Take plenty of time. It's still cold the further north you go. It was 32 degrees here in Pahrump this morning.

Thanks owl.
We might linger around Vegas a few extra days since temps there are about like here lately.
It was pretty chilly right before sunrise this morning. Nice now tho.

Are you hanging there a while??
