Where to stop between DHS and RTR?

I am leaving Desert Hot Springs today and trying to figure out where to stop between here and Quartzsite for a bit. Thought I’d like to see Anza Borrego but their website makes it look like you have to buy an expensive pass to drive into the park. Does anyone have current info on this?

Anybody parked there now?

Any groups at Ehrenberg now?
