^I camped SW of Terlingua last winter. I heard that they put some fancy sensors on top of the mountains and that illegal crossings have dropped to nil. They spot them easily and just go pick them up before they can get to a road.

If the Border Bill gets passed there is funding for even more officers and technology to be implemented. Wish Trump would have allowed that to happen sooner and stopped the inflow of immigrants even more, maybe now he will as he has won the election and gotten the power he wanted.

Border Patrol is make work for Veterans who live near the borders and miss wearing a uniform to work and running around in the bush.

Probably safer and easier than police work in Seattle, Portland, and Minneapolis.

Not so much as it is now, a lot of office time dealing with catching up paper work and processing. Mainly getting a security clearance and qualifying to get the numerous open but unfunded positions then waiting for months for openings to get funded. Fortunately many veterans already speak Spanish or a foreign language. Again the Border Bill ASAP would help til the system is improved or rewritten.

Camping not far from the border now its pretty nice here. Once in a while saw BP trucks in far distance. Found black bottles in the desert in a couple of places but no telling now old they are.

Actually found whole smugglers camp today, looks pretty old though. Black bottles, backpacks, canvas drug bags, clothes. Got to collect it tomorrow though I wonder this could contaminate my rig with drug scents. They used to haul hundreds of tons of trash per year from illegals and smugglers from some natural areas in AZ
