Ah, OK Katie.

I guess I was doing it correctly (I think) but I was assuming that I would be notified by PM (somewhere in my control panel). I hadn't bothered checking my actual email (is that what you're talking about?).

Maybe PM notification of replies to threads would be another good idea/suggestion for the new forum.... just a thought related to this particular situation, Katie.

Thanks for the Help, and all you do.

no prob...hope everything works out.

forums like this have given me tons of ideas as well as heads up pn different products

i might add...

im a chevy guy so i was leaning towards an express anyway but the clincher was the way chevy makes the cargo vans with studs (cargo have more than passenger due to passengers windows)...

for me, having done traditional framing and carpentry since i was a kid, the studs just made sense to me.

fords monocoque (??) style had me scratching my head despite seeing it done alot in the sportsmobile and other forums.

have to say though, there isnt a damn straight line in the entire cargo area of an express anyway lol..cept maybe the floor....the rest, its all curves and compound angles and tapers...good grief it was a challenge.

not sure off top of my head how dodge does it but i never considered dodge for myself anyway.

Hey Ziggy, got the same sort of issue with the SS Phoenix, no frame in the port holes!
I have filled the holes with 1" foam board for insulation (gets an R5 rating) but building wall might be unique.

So let me know what ya come up with in yours.
Dan

I guess you do have a similar situation, Dan. I'll post pictures of what I come up with, but looking at your pictures, I can almost guarantee that you'll be done a lot sooner than I. And I like what you've done so far.

So, here's what I came up with that looks like it will work. And gives me a little more "dead air" behind the wall for insulation purposes. I put the "studs" on 16" centers cause I figured if it was good enough for sticks and bricks it might be good enough for mobile dwelling.

You'll notice on the bottom rail I had to add some spacers to make the wall work. There were no two vehicle surfaces the same. The wall will flush up to the ceiling and get some kind of corner trim.

looks like you got it.

if you ever find yourself having trouble with thin strips of wood like that...splitting...having to predrill 1000 holes...check out the vinyl/pvc trim boards available at home depot or lowes. i used them in my van at the top of the ceiling where the wall and ceiling meet at the "beam". the stuff wont split or crack or rot and its flexible and pliable yet strong. accepts screw very easily.

here is one of the sizes that i used.

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Royal-Mo...4S-Moulding-0215012011/100091434#.UgjXfj9h_cg

Good idea, I hadn't really thought about those as a "base", I'm guessing Liquid Nails would stick to them??

i would think so. just need to double check whichever adhesive you use to make sure its compatible with the material but given its (the trim) use, id be surprised if liquid nails was incompatible.
