I have looked all over the internet and through cheaprvliving YouTube channel and cant seem to find any info. The video I was found was for last year. I was believing it was the begining of September. I'm currently in Colorado but i plan to go to the RTR and I'm very much looking forward to it. Me my gf and our dog have been in our van for the last 2 weeks which isn't along time but i have previous experiance where as this is all new to her and the one thing I'm discovering is how lonely it can be. I'm desperately seeking like minded individuals and it would be even greater to travel the country with a group,if possible! Thanks for any info!

RTR is  January 9th through the 20th

If you have found a nice place to camp you could post an invitation in the Gatherings section. Potluck, campfire if that is permitted, coffee, stay a few days, etc. It's up to you to decide what type of gathering you want.

Thanks I appreciate the quick response. I'm interested in heading out west currently I'm in Colorado and it's nice I'm happy with staying here for another month or two but I dont want to get snowed in here lol. I'm not much for the heat either though so i want to ride out my time here as long as possible and work.

A couple of years back I arrived in the Ehrenberg/Quartzsite area in November & hung around until after the RTR (in January). There were lot's of other vandwellers around.  I fell in with a group who liked some company & didn't mind sharing the evening around a campfire with friends, that really helped.
There are a lot of places to camp, a lot of places to explore all around that part of Arizona.

The Yuma/Calif area was great too! I'm still a fan of the Holtvile Calif 14 day free area and the hot springs.  Mittry Lake, Fortuna Pond and all the other areas down in Yuma were just great.

I spent part of the summer up by Flagstaff & towards the south entrance to the Grand Canyon, warm days (mid-80's, not hot) and good sleeping weather at night (50's). As long as I moved often enough I had no problems...

If I was looking for someplace to hang out today & I had a few bucks to spare I'd think about a New Mexico state park camping pass... or find a national forest, stop at the ranger station and ask for the (FREE) Motor vehicle Use Map for that forest and find a some dispersed camping options. I might take a look at freecampsites.net for free places around where I'd like to be..

There are a lot of options... Good luck!
