Reading Bobs blog lately has been really inspiring.   When I meet someone new and they have a good head on their shoulders I will often try to find out something that inspires them.  I figured I would ask some of the most inspiring people I know(You all here) what you have been inspired by recently or through out your life.

I'm a very simple guy and little things will inspire me often.  I find lately that lots of them occur in nature but here are a few others.

A smile directed my way from a beautiful woman.

A great book.

An amazing quote.

Riding a motorcycle over a mountain pass in the snow and coming out the other side to find it sunny and warm, the road twisting, and the smiles never ending(I felt high as a kite).

Walking along a beach collecting beach glass and interesting rocks.

I've been extremely fortunate in my business, and through it, I've gotten a dozen or so very wealthy people for regular customers. (one that own's his own island!!) :p

And whenever I get onna these guys alone, I like to prod them and see what oozes out. (in other words, learn all I can from them)

I love their way of looking at the challenge of building their businesses, and not focusing on the money. (oddly enough!) :D

Being a business owner, myself, I learn SO MUCH from these interactions, and definitely walk away with a TON of insight and inspiration!!

...oh, and I'm totally with you on the motorcycle ride's inspiration too!!

Patrick,

It would be great to hear anything you might have learned from them if possible sometime.

I find inspiration in a lot of great and successful people.   Some of my co workers are geniuses in our field.  I try to soak up knowledge like a sponge on the rare occasions I can.

Great to hear on the moto inspiration!

I would have to agree with the ones you listed, except for the 'beautiful woman' part. ;)

I will throw a smile your way for having such awesome taste!

:D

Seems we have a lot of people who enjoy motorcycles.  I spent a lot of time on ADV rider before I went on my motorcycle trip(and still do).  A ton of threads there inspired me to go on my trip but someone who is really inspiring is poster Jdowns.

He has had a few threads where he goes to South America.  Has a great outlook on life and attitude.   Some epic adventures he has had.

If any of you are into motorcycles and travel that much(probably lots of you) check out some of the ride reports there.

Young people.  Most are smarter than previous generations.

A smile from a lady, any lady...

Classic American muscle cars. The 60's were a great decade.

Seeing a problem I know I can fix.

My kids.  I went to college late in life, and told my kids, "You can do better than I can."

Great question, along with many listed, people coming together when things that affect all of us happen, weather situations, deaths, births, vehicle troubles :)

Compassion
Self sufficiency, ingenious cheap ideas to problem solving.

Great point on the cars!  Even more modern muscle cars as well.  I love the classics, but a Hellcat, or a GT350 are amazing machines!

Solving problems is a huge part of life.   I get a great satisfaction from troubleshooting and fixing issues at work.
