I like a GI wool blend blanket on the mattress, sleep on top of it, with a light fleece blanket or opened sleeping bag, depending on temperature.

I had purchased a "quilt" for backpacking and will be using it for my main bedding in the van. These are very similar to a sleeping bag but less constraining. These are not your grandmothers style of quilt.

The back is mostly removed to make a lighter product when every ounce counts on extended hiking forays and are intended to be used with a pad on the ground or just as a cover on top of your bed.

They may not be priced for most vanlifers. I purchased mine for backpacking and it is worth every penny. This is probably my most prized possession and in the van is the only bedding outside of sheeting that I will ever need.

They are very well constructed for the outdoors and will likely outlive me. Beats the hell out of a mummy bag.

Those are nice. I was looking at a similar type one but a different manufacturer not long ago.

Vintage metal folding cot mattress, foam mattress sheets, sleeping bag, several blankets. I have arthritis of the spine so too hard or too soft and I can’t walk the next day. If you ask who I sleep with that would be my 60 lb brindle Pocket Pit Maggie. She has her own dog beds-2 flat foam pads.

I have a 30+ year old Coleman Peak One zero degree sleeping bag I use in winter, a cheap imitation down comforter in the shoulder seasons, and nothing in the summer.

There is nothing like 100% wool - for warmth but sheets between you and the wool to prevent itching. My mom just gave me my great grandmother's wool blanket. over 100 years old but keep properly. big enough for a double bed and thicker than any wool blanket I have ever seen. Now that is warm.

If it gets too cold I add more coal to the fire.

I know the thread says what do you sleep with. Those of you who know me know where my mind goes. Who do you sleep with? Are used to have a wife to do that with now I just have Teddy. That’s me and radar O’Reilly.

I use a Nemo Forte sleeping bag, and a quilt my aunt had made for me when I was a kid. It's over 35 years old and is priceless to me. The Forte is great for side sleepers and I think its a 20 degree bag without the liner. My bed is made with sheets and another quilt, but I just throw my bag on top of all of that and sleep.

She, I totally have a teddy bear my sister gave me, that lives with me in the van, he is such a cuddle monster, he ALWAYS is up for cuddles! <img src="/images/boards/smilies/smile.gif" border="0" align="absmiddle">

Don't worry, my thoughts went further askew. Chuckle
