Has anybody installed a water bladder in their rig? I am installing a 60 gallon water bladder in my rig this week. My plans are building a lined box for it. The box will be built to secure the bladder from movement. I will only fill it before I get to an extended stay campsite. The box will also allow me to store other gear on and around it. The footprint of the bladder itself once full is 48x36x16. I have installed fuel bladders in aircraft wings many times I am aware of what is required to install a bladder for protection and security. Would like others input before I install it.

I can see the benefits of using a bladder. will you be using a pump also? where did you get your bladder? does the water taste funny? highdesertranger

Good morning HDR. The bladder is a Aquatank 2. Purchased on amazon and researched on You Tube. The bladder weighs around 2 lb's and folds up to the size of a laptop. It is to be used for a portable shower and refilling my Berkey. It will be plumbed to a shur flo revolution pump then to a ventless propane water heater attached to the interior sidewall about 7 feet downstream. A 96" shower hose with a Oxygenics shower head will be attached to the water heater outlet. The portable shower Will be a stainless steel hula hoop which is segmented into about six pieces that connect together, making it easy to store. I have magnetic hooks that will provide the attachment of the hula hoop to my steel roof. The hula hoop will be used as a shower curtain rod. The shower pan will be a home depot plastic cement mixing pan for now. Once collapsed and broke down the shower components will be stored in the shower pan. As far as taste of the water from the bladder remains to be seen. Not worried too much about it. The water will be pre filtered by a inline water filter on my fill hose.

Working on a process for filtering the shower water to be recycled for my washing machine.

The good thing about building a box is that you will be able to use that box for storage of other stuff when you realize that carrying 500 lbs of water won't be necessary because you'll be moving or heading to town to empty your gray and black water tanks anyways.

I was going to go with 90 gallons LOL! My rig can handle 60 gallons just fine thank you very much :D

So does recycled gray have anything to do with like filling water ballons and launching them, I would think that would not only be fun but quicker! LOL!!!

Exactly bullfrog, except that would be the tertiary use right aft washing my clothes in it.

My 60 gallon water bladder in it's containment. Can only fill to 50 gallons. Tested it and it works great. Had this camping gear container for over 25 years. Haven't used it for 10 now it is repurposed.

This is perfect! I have been looking for a way to store water in the space where the left, center Stow-N-Go seat used to go in my minivan. I've measured the space there and it looks as if I could get 20 gallons under there if I filled the entire space with water. So, the 15 gallon version would be perfect for me. The price is a little high for me right now, but it does seem reasonable compared to other, similarly sized, rigid water tanks.

LCTD, for a 15 or 20 gallon bladder you can use an old Ice chest. Just cut a hole for the Outlet hose on the bladder. The bladder can be gravity filled as well thru the inlet hose.

Does it weigh something like 430 lbs?  Where in the suspension is this best to place?

I am placing it just behind the rear axle.
