Washing Dishes in the Desert

I'm stationary at the moment, but when I run out of propane, I use a full sized coffee maker as a "water heater" both for dishes and for "showering". I do run out of propane sometimes and for that kind of situation I also have a toaster oven, microwave, hotplate and outdoor small barbecue grill. I don't let my dogs "pre-clean" my dishes or pots because I've found that the "slobbers" from dogs are hard to get off the dishes even with hot water and soap. I'm a little finicky so I just wash them myself---but not with my tongue, mind you.

I've never heard of that fungus but I sure wouldn't want to find out the hard way that I'd run into it.
