[font=Roboto, Arial, sans-serif][color=var(--ytd-comment-text-color)]Hi great video I hope to be full time one day but as a caretaker for my Mom & Dad (Divorced) I can't just leave  my Dad has Alzheimers and lives with me for last 10 years and Mom moved to my town to be closer to me, 3 years ago I found Bob Wells channel (when he was with Jamie) and everyday since then I have been planning for my new life I have bought 4 different campers a Astro Van High Top-1960's Canned ham both of which I sold I presently have a 1994 Suburban and a 1999 Chevy Conversion Van I also have a 5 by 8 Cargo Trailer. In the end I'm pretty sure I will end up with the Suburban-Cargo Trailer combination. I'm telling you this cause while living as a Nomad is a Minimalist Life its easy to hear about a product and click a button on Amazon and 2 days later its there. I have spent way to much $$$ and have so much stuff it got to the point I was ordering stuff I already had. I finally had to stop and realize that planning for this new life was a way to have Hope for the future and when I was down I got a little happiness with each purchase and then it went into my pile of stuff.
I know this is long but if you are in a situation that you cant leave right away don't buy STUFF until its time to go! All you need to start is a Rig-/Bed/ Sleeping Bag/ Cooler/Phone Then as you move on you will know what to buy and save a Lot of $$$ for Travel!
Again Sorry! If you made it to the end Much Peace & Blessings

Funny thing is that I have just replied to another person about a similar situation.
And I have the same advice.
Planning always leave's questions,
Doing always gives us the answers.
Stand or fall at least you know you tried.
Just get in what ever vehical you have and take off for a few days. Then write down each item you use and those you need.
Keep doing it for a while and before you know it you'll have a great set up and be well versed in your gear and vehical.
I have learned that each item you have adds expense. You have to maintain them.
So I'm more comfortable with a van just because of the costs. Tires, wheel bearings. Tail lights. Gaskets. Licence plate's insurance.etc.. they are always going to have a place in the budget.
Not having them means more for solar and refrigeration funds. Also I have learned from owning a quad and trailing it to the boonies that trailers are not always easy to turn around on unpaved trails and if you get rain they are an anchor. I've learned to go simple and light. Sofar it's been better than when I tried to be a nomad hauling a sticks and bricks lifestyle with me.
Anymore I call that "Moving" and who likes to do that?.

Thanks, I needed to hear that today. I get lost in the 'getting ready' stuff as well and for the reason mentioned.

agree that doing shows us what we really need. pretending we need so much to hit the road but are not there is just buying mostly junk we don't need at some point. I get ya on that :)

been on the road traveling/camping etc for so long we are down to bare minimums. we know what we need, what we absolutely do not need.

a decluttered lifestyle is so us. minimalist anyway, cutting down even more and not buying for the sake of buying is wonderful for us.

less is more reigns high in our lifestyle :p
