OP, just for grins take your phone and drive in NM... You'll soon see just how sparse the coverage is. I just hope I don't ever need to call with T Mobile cause it's a real gamble. I traverse that state a lot, from going to visit family members in Colorado or camping in pretty, higher elevation areas near Angel Fire or Taos. Haven't been in the southern part like near Roswell for years but not a lot changes...

My cabin in NM in 120 miles from the nearest ATT & T-Mobile tower but Verizon 4 g is full bars. Verizon is the only way to go in NM and AZ. I work back and forth in NM and AZ for one of the Copper Mining companies you can believe, Verizon works in the middle of no-where. ATT is useless. T-Mobile will work around Silver City and has a couple of towers in the area and one near Deming. Verizon has repeater at all our mine even the very remote ones. There are a few spots in both states where nothing works in the way of cell or even Ham repeaters.
