I've been calling AT &T all day and, so far, nobody has heard of mobley so I guess I don't get it

Also remember that it is part of the connected car program. They may need to connect you to them. I just explained it to each store I talked to. The last two needed to see my account to be able to set it up for a different person.

What they ordered for me this morning after I tried to explain it the best I could is a Audiovox automotive Evidently it's not the right thing and I've been trying to cancel it for over an hour. I'm still on line with them and am slowly losing it. I can't understand what they are saying and they aren't understanding me either. I'm going to have to ship this other thing back. It's making me crazy and I guess I'll pass because I can't do it

I'm still trying to order. Spoke with at least five more people. I can't seem to order from the website

The maintenance cost is $56. The upfront cost of all of the devices is hundreds of dollars?

You are correct. Over the span of a few years I did spend money on the hotspots.

The flashed 3G Verizon 4510L was $75

The T-Mobile hotspot with band 12 was $86

The unlimited Sprint LTE hotspot was part of the $250 deal including a full year of service but take the $168 out for next years service and I would say I paid $82.

The AT&T Mobley was free with a 2 years contract however there was a $45 set up fee.

So all in all I have paid $288 for the four hotspots in my $56 a month plan. It was spread out over time so it is not nearly as painful as it sounds. Come to think of it, most peoples phones cost more than that.

I've been with Verizon for many years now, and still have the the old unlimited plan. As a truck driver and now full time van dweller I've always been in excess of 100 gb's a month traveling 49 states and all provinces of Canada (I pay an additional $25 international fee). Never once have they said anything in the last 15+ years. My phone/iPad is my radio/tv/Netflix/Amazon viewer. I also take/send/post many videos and pictures.

I've called them a couple times about my usage after hearing/reading things like this. Their response as recent as last week has always been, not to worry, my account is unlimited. Then they follow up by asking me if I'm ready to upgrade my phone. They receive $250 a month from me. They get a good fee and I receive a great service. Great coverage with few exceptions thanks to their partnerships.

Technomadia is reporting that Verizon is kicking some "unlimited" customers off if they use too much data while roaming.  Apparently, while they can throttle "unlimited" customers speeds on their own network, they can't do so on allied networks some people are roaming on to. Technomadia quoted THIS particular site as their source:

Yes, they are busy little beavers !

This cropped up in msm today...

.credit to arstechnica as due for article on VZN dumping rural customers and hacking 'unlimited'.

They are probably not going to stop !

any carrier will kick ya off there network if your using the phone to much while roaming!!! why because your costing them too much $$$

Even while not roaming.

Some are grandfathered in to true unlimited, those accounts go for thousands if they can even be transferred anymore.

New "so-called unlimited" all have fine print, the top X% of "abusers" get at least throttled.
