Is venting of an AGM battery necessary?  We have seen mixed opinions on this.  We need to decide where we will place the battery and how we would vent it, if necessary.  Appreciate any recommendations.  Thanks.

Common wisdom says that lead acid only outgasses when it is being charged, not when you are sleeping typically. I slept within a foot of one for over a decade and never noticed anything.

A reasonable amount of ventilation is a good idea generally. I don’t know any specifics on agm.

The only time an AGM should outgas is if is being overcharged. So.......

My AGM batteries have spent the past eight years stuffed in a cabinet, working away. There have been no explosions, no fires, no injuries.
