Hi nomad people out there...
I was wondering where you are getting vaccinations and what that has been like? For me, still in Los Angeles, it has been pretty much a mad house. I get alerts when there are openings but by the time I get onto the page where you sign up no one has them anymore. I am staying a month longer just so I can get one before heading out on the road. But next month will be me taking leave of this big city and I was wondering what it might be like to get vaccinated out on the road.
I'd love to hear from any of you and what it has been like.
Thanks, Diana

Diana I went to Walgreens.com and was able to make an appointment fairly easily. It was just two days out. I understand they update the site every couple hours. You can try different zip codes.

I had to wait longer than I wanted to, but I've have had my first one, and will get the second one in April. I got the Pfizer from Walgreen's. Check their website DAILY, appointments go fast. I know that other major chains with pharmacy departments expect to start vaccinating as soon as they get sufficient supplies, including WalMart.

How soon you can get one depends on a state's eligibility rules. Here in Arizona, you don't need to be an Arizona resident, but I believe that some states do require that you be a resident. Also, at least at Walgreen's, you have to get the second one at the same site that you got the first.

Would I wait for the shot to get on the road? I personally will continue to mask up, practice social distancing, and avoid crowded indoor space just as I have been, for at least the next six months. And that will be true whether or not I am traveling. (And I've had no problem doing those things while I'm on the road.) Depending on the states where you intend to travel, you might be able to get your shots faster if you wait where you are. OR you might get them sooner if you travel.

I'm hanging at a friend's place near a medium sized town in New Mexico for a while and wrangled a vax appointment through the NM Department of Health.

Not no, but hell no to "vaccinations".

There are millions of people whose lives have been saved or improved because of 'vaccinations". I had several friends that suffered with polio and other maladies because their parents said no. I will get my vaccination for you and others like you and hope there are enough of you wearing masks, washing hands and social distancing that we can get the virus under control enough that thousands don't continue to die. By the way really liked your rig and build out, would you maybe consider me in your will? LOL!!! Best of luck!

Well stated reply bullfrog.  I agree that some vaccinations are effective and have saved lives.   I put "vaccinations" in quotes because mRNA is not technically a vaccination.  mRNA does not have any part of the virus dead or alive in it, but works by ultimately modifying your DNA.   Not enough research on this for me as of now.  Time will tell and it may or may not work out.  I'll be sitting this one out till then.

I've always been a risk taker and don't understand how I made it past age 30. I was gonna hold out to see if they would pay me like they did my cousin back home when he was in a test group but figured my vision is getting pretty bad and maybe a new third eyeball might be useful. LOL!!! I felt the same way about computers when they did away with punch tapes just knew an EMF event would cause everything to be lost, but so far so good and my time is bound to be limited here so "hold my beer". I'm dead serious about your rig, that thing is a work of art or you are one heck of a photographer!

Still don't want it.  I haven't had a cold or flu since 1995, so I'm not worried about Corona viri.

People are suffering adverse reactions all over the world from these shots, even dropping dead within days.  No sir, I trust my immune system, even at age 70.

I don't do masks either...

The media doesn't help matters here.  They report the adverse reactions but failed to mention that two of four reported adverse reactions were in the placebo group....ie, the group that got sugar pills.

There were far far more deaths due to car fires in the USA than deaths due to vaccines.   Is this going to stop me from driving a car?

Don't worry, really nothing to decide. You either get the vaccine or you get covid 19.

Maybe you had / have the asymptomatic covid 19 virus, just kills off all your friends and loved ones. Are any of your loved ones sick?

Don't you know that sugar is bad for you?  Sugar kills (in large doses over a lifetime :D )!!

False binary choice. It's not an either/or proposition.

Statistically speaking. It is possible that you could get into a bubble where this would not be true.

Where I live the infection rate is such that it is either vaccine or covid. They expected 100% infection within one year before the vaccine shots began.

We still have a higher infection rate due to tourism and immigration, and those who are unable to comply with the law of the land. Those people usually find a vulnerable community and start spreading like mad

I don't know anyone who has had Covid.  I think the "asymptomatic" theory is BS.  If one doesn't have enough of a viral load to have symptoms, they won't spread any Corona virus.

25% of the shoppers in the stores here are not wearing masks, that says to me that it's not as dangerous as the government wants you to believe.

I know three people who have died from COVID.

And that's a big reason why we've had 500,000+ deaths. More to come, no doubt.

Asymptomatic transmission is a real thing and it's not the 'government' that says that. It's what scientists and medical professionals who've spent decades studying infectious disease says.

I had the hepatitis C virus for 20 years before being cured in 2012. Never had any symptoms at all which is the case with most people who get it.  It's most certain that if precautions aren't followed it can be spread to others.

Is wearing a mask for a short time while shopping or doing other activities really that much to ask?  You'd think that people would want to err on the side of caution when it comes to the well-being of others. It's not just about YOUR health.

1-in-10 people have tested positive (30,000,000) and yes, the survival rate is 98% (so far) so there will be many people who don't personally know someone who has died. That doesn't mean that all the death that has occurred should be ignored. It is still rampant and mutating, so it can do a lot more damage in the future.

You hear so much about how Americans have in the past always had the will to pull together to get thru hard times.

It seems that now you have to wonder if that still holds true.

PS: I know one person who has died.
