I'm seeing the need for insulation in my fiberglass utility shell "home". I'm hesitant to glue insulation to it and have issues with the glue, insulation or lack of access for wiring or checking for moisture. Anyone ever velcro closed cell insulation to the wall/ceiling surfaces? I'm all about simple solutions..

One thing I've found, when it gets cold, is that if there's any way for moist air to get behind your insulation, it will, and there will be condensation/mold happening. Velco doesn't provide an airtight seal, and you can figure out the rest of THAT story. Try 2 sided foam tape. It works well and you can still pull it off.. though it's not reusable. ..Willy.

2 sided tape will almost certainly be cheaper, but really 80% of my insulation is just stuffed in there, it all stays up by being wedged into place.

Where I had glued, I used 100% silicone, it doesn't eat the styrofoam, like some of the others I tried

My problem with Velcro is I can't get it to stick to the inside walls of my van. even the 'industrial' strength super stick stuff. I have no idea why.

With Love,
Tara

Velcro gets expensive fast. Sticky-Velcro falls off after one southern summer, from the heat.
Insulation - stuff it in or use Permatex. I've had excellent results with the red Hi Temp Permatex, even in sustained 100+ degree months of summer in the south.

Thanks for the suggestions. Right now I'm concentrating on ventilation and have had great results with little to no condensation. If it becomes an issue again, insulation after dessicant is my next move.

I don't think he can stuff it, he has a shiny smooth fiberglass shell
