I am trying to figure out how to utilize all the storage space I can in the van and was wondering if anyone had any ideas about cheap shelving or storage for the hi top area of my van. of course I want the center aisle for headroom, but over the bed in the back and above the sink/stove area (which doesn't exist yet) is a great place to put stuff! how can I do it on the cheap? ideas?

You can probably find less expensive kitchen style cabinets made for garages, or being junked, or torn out of houses by contractors: the short style that often go above sinks, stoves, or refrigerators. You would have to round the back top corner to match the shape of the van (were the side meets the ceiling) but it's easy eanough to make a cardboard template of the curve.

Photos of our old B here:

http://bentfalcon.wordpress.com/gyrfalcon-interior-photos/

Note in the photos, a white vinyl ledge that runs horizontally in the unit: thats where the hightop meets the camper. Some of the cabinets fit in above that point neatly.
